“Christ rose early when the day was beginning to dawn, to denote that by His Resurrection He brought us to the light of glory; just as He died when the day was drawing to its close, and nearing to darkness, in order to signify that by His death He would destroy the darkness of sin and its punishment.” (St. Thomas Aquinas, Summa teologiae, IIIa, q.53, art.2, ad 3)
In the light of this thought of St. Thomas Aq., on the 750th anniversary of his glorious death, I wish that Christ will come and destroy in each of us the darkness of sin and its punishment, and, if possible, also of disordered inclinations.
And may He set us on our way to the light of glory by enveloping our souls with that light and splendor with which he clothed his body at the moment of resurrection.
To all I assure my remembrance in prayer and my blessing.
