“Arise, Lord, come to your resting place, you and your mighty ark.” (Ps. 132:8).
According to a felicitous insight of St. Vincent Ferreri, the great Dominican preacher and thaumaturge, the righteous who were in limbo awaiting Christ’s resurrection, when they saw his soul coming among them, immediately recognized him and adored him.
Then all together they said to him, “Arise, Lord, to your resting place.“
Rise, they said to him, together with your mighty ark, with that body through which through so many wonders you have manifested your divine omnipotence.
Surge, Domine, in requiem tuam, tu et arca sanctificationis tuae.
Father Angelo, web master Pasquale and the staff of contributors join the prayer of these righteous ones who are now in heaven beseeching Christ to rise in the place of his rest, namely in the hearts of all our visitors and in the hearts of their loved ones.
To all may Christ bring his sanctification (Ps. 132:8) and the power of his resurrection (Phil. 3:10).
