Dear Father Angelo,

  1. about the conception of Jesus Christ, is it correct to say that the eternal Christ became human to the point of becoming a cell that entered Mary’s womb?
  2. If, at conception  Christ took the name of Jesus, can we affirm that the body of Jesus is the only one who could enter in communion with Christ? And therefore, the only one to be chosen among all the inhabitants of the Earth?
  3. So, does the union of Jesus with Christ form that body which is both human and divine and which has always existed?
  4. Is Jesus, the begotten not created, Christ?

So, the theory of adoptionism would fail too.

Thanks, and have a good journey.

The Priest’s answer

Dear Roberto, in your writing there are inaccuracies and misunderstandings generated by confused meanings of names and words.

1. You speak of the eternal Christ.

Christ means Messiah.

Now Christ is eternal according to His divine nature.

But He is not eternal according to His human nature because He assumed it about 2000 years ago.

2. You then write that He “became human to the point of becoming a cell that entered Mary’s womb”.

If He were like that, He would not have assumed the flesh of Mary and would not belong to our human nature.

Christ instead assumed Human nature from the body of Mary.

He was born of the Virgin Mary, and not simply through the Virgin Mary after entering her womb when he was already conceived.

3. Regarding your second question: Jesus IS the Christ.

Jesus became Christ, that is, the Messiah, since He was conceived in Mary’s womb. There is no separation between Jesus and Christ.

He is the divine person of the Word made flesh. Since the moment He got flesh, He is our Christ, our Messiah.

4. Regarding your third question: Jesus did not unite with the Christ, but He is the Christ.

His body is not human and divine, but it is only human, because God has no body.

The body of Jesus is the body that God took when He wanted to incarnate to fulfill the redemption.

5. Jesus is eternal according to His divine nature, but He is not eternal according to His human nature.

6. Finally, your fourth question: He is begotten but not created in relation to His divine nature.

As far as the human soul is concerned, His human nature was created in the womb of the Virgin Mary.

Evolutionism has nothing to do with the body of Jesus, because its horizons relate to the formation of the living realities in this world.

I wish you all the best and I bless you.
